  • Leading and mentoring students through arts focused projects for the Broadening Horizons division of the nonprofit.

  • Responsibilities include: teaching critical and writing thinking sessions at A. Philip Randolph High School and James Baldwin

  • School, developing and executing arts based talks, screenings, field trips, and conducting arts centered research.

  • Stage managed the Dramatists Guild Foundation's New Voices showcase. New Voices is a program that brings professional Teaching Artists to fourth grade classrooms where they lead the students in the collaborative creation of their own original plays.

  • Responsibilities included organizing, tracking, and gathering props, costumes, and set pieces. Assigning and assisting with transitions, spiking set pieces, creating sound cue documents, reading stage directions, and setting up backstage.

  • Assisted with all Department Heads for the new immersive production.

  • Responsibilities included: schedule upkeep and documentation with Asana, creation of casting documents, research, office maintenance.

Refugee Youth Summer Academy | Peer Mentor | Summer 2019

  • Peer Mentor for the IRC’s summer program to help newly arrived refugee, asylees, and other immigrant youth succeed in the NYC Public school system.

  • Responsibilities include: mentoring students and modeling positive behavior, assisting teachers and students, classroom setup.

Williamstown Theatre Festival | Acting Apprentice, MA | Summer 2018

  • Performed and assisted in all departments as an Acting Apprentice for the Massachusetts based festival.

  • Responsibilities included Wardrobe Crew for The Closet starring Matthew Broderick , Deck Crew for Lempicka directed by Rachel Chavkin, set building, general costume maintenance and construction, lighting assistance,  front of house, and prop construction.

  • Performed in a short play (Eleanor Descending a Staircase).

New York City Players  |  Performer/Intern, New York, NY  |  May 2017- Present  

  • Assisted with production and general management for the Brooklyn based experimental theater group, founded by acclaimed director and playwright Richard Maxwell.

  • Cast member in the New York Times Critic’s pick Paradiso directed and written by Richard Maxwell at Greene Naftali Gallery.

  • Production Intern for The Second Wedding of Yasmin Blessing to Jeff Jackman Jr. as part of the company’s Education Project with immigrant New Yorkers and NYCP Summer School, a week long intensive workshop for artists across all mediums.

  • Responsibilities included: grant organization, contract documentation, production advertisement, and product distribution.

 

Groove With Me | Dance Teacher/ Volunteer, New York, NY | September 2017- Present

  • Jazz Dance Volunteer Teacher for 5-6 year old girls at the dance studio that offers free classes to girls in Harlem to express themselves and discover their capacities in a stable environment.

  • Provides a safe and supportive space for the dancers while teaching basic jazz dance technique.

 

Vaclav Havel Library Foundation | Intern, New York, NY | September 2017- November 2017   

  • Intern for the nonprofit organization that honors and builds upon the legacy of playwright, dissident, and former President of Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic, Vaclav Havel.

  • Helped organize and execute the Rehearsal for Truth Festival, a theater festival with artists from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia to highlight Havel’s legacy as a playwright.

  • Responsibilities included: Corresponding with embassy representatives, organizing panel discussions, assisting talent, space management.

 

Paul Taylor American Modern Dance Company | Intern, New York, NY | June 2017- August 2017 

  • Office/ Production intern for the renowned American modern dance company.

  • Responsibilities included: assisting with auditions for new members of the company, sorting and organizing marketing materials, documenting donors for the development department, filing tour dates and information, ushering and ticket collection for community based events.

 

Urban Stages | Literary Committee, New York, NY | June 2017- August 2017

  • Served as a literary committee member for the not-for-profit, Off Broadway theater company.

  • Read three plays a week and wrote reviews and feedback, recommending plays that supported the theater’s mission of inclusivity and accessibility.

  • Assisted with general management at the longest running Off Broadway theater in New York City.

  • Contributed to the planning and gathering of materials for the theater’s annual Mentor Project Announcement night.

Carina received a B.A. in Theatre with an Acting Concentration. While at Barnard, Carina performed in shows for the Barnard Theatre Department and choreographed productions for student theatre. She was on the Dean's List for academic excellency during her time at Barnard.

Carina studied abroad in London at the acting conservatory during the spring semester of her junior year. While at BADA, Carina trained in classic acting techniques, attended workshops with industry professionals such as Fiona Shaw, and performed in a production of Pygmalion.

Carina Graduated Cum Laude in 2014 and received English Honors and Theatre & Dance Honors Awards. While she was at friends, Carina performed, choreographed, and dance captained the school's productions, while also serving as a Writing Fellow.
